A ultrasound scan

The aim of the course is to introduce GPs to the role of ultrasound in a community setting. Specifically, the course will inform delegates in the safe and accurate acquisition of ultrasound images and how these images, together with the medical history, aid in competent patient management decisions.

Course Details

This two-day course will cover ultrasound physics, equipment, safety, quality assurance and an introduction to ultrasound anatomy and common pathology of the upper and lower male and female abdomen; with an introduction to Doppler, Musculoskeletal and Superficial structures.

The transfer of knowledge and understanding of ultrasound application will take place with the aid of lectures and demonstrations on models and guided hands-on experience.

  • Hospital sonographers support all practical workshops.
